Should I tell a contractor what my budget is?
The quick answer is yes. Providing your contractor with a budget will allow him to work with you and price a project to fit your budget, avoiding expensive or cheap fixtures and amenities accordingly. Working together builds trust and respect, while saving time and energy for both the contractor and homeowner.

What is the timeline for interior renovations?
Every project will have its own timeline, but here are some general timelines for kitchen and bathroom projects. Kitchen renovations usually take 6-8 weeks. Bathroom renovations usually take 4-5 weeks. These timelines can be reduced if the renovation does not have custom counters, glass, cabinets, etc.

Who supplies the materials? Customer or contractor?
Either! The customer can provide the materials and is responsible for making sure all the material is on site and undamaged. Additional fees could be assessed if material is missing or extra trips are needed to complete the job. If the contractor provides the materials, he provides peace of mind that all products will be installed properly, and he will follow up with the manufacture when the product is damaged.

What is the best way to communicate with the contractor?
Solt’s Construction is open 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday. The best way to reach the contractor is through email or text. Phone calls, if not answered, are usually followed up within one business day. Evenings and weekend communication is limited.
